Best Reminiscence Boxes for Dementia – Largest Choice In The UK

At Happy Days Dementia Workshop, we create a range of themed Reminiscence Boxes. It’s not my natural behaviour, but I’m even happy to brag about it. We’ve been creating reminiscence resources and activities for some time and try to suit as many interests as possible. Our nostalgic materials are posted out regularly across the UK, to America and even Australia. We’re very proud of our reminiscence boxes because we choose the contents very carefully, and prepare them with caring thoughts, passion spurred on by the knowledge that people enjoy them. We know this because people tell us. Dianne Smith, Matron for Professional Standards in Dementia, University Hospitals Morecambe Bay Trust told us this:

The Happy Days dementia reminiscence boxes, activity trolleys and communication boards provide that much needed interaction with patients; memories to reminisce with, helping them relax and provide positive social interaction with the staff and volunteers. Having them now in our A&E departments will be especially helpful to provide a therapeutic approach to care.

Our boxes include nostalgic artefacts, replica games from our childhood, tactile items, everyday living prompts – and along with all these items, we include replica memorabilia, postcards, photographs, a conversation prompt card and carer tips guide. You might not be able to see all the items on our photographs but we know you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you open the box and share with the people you are caring for. Ideal for people living with dementia – As we know, prompting the long term memory can often bring about stories to share and enjoy.

Themes are varied, from Baking Day, Sixties and By the Seaside to Tool Trugs, Seventies and Around the World.  Over the past few years, we have come to realise that we are the UK’s largest supplier of the widest choice of themed reminiscence materials – and happy to brag about it because we know how much reminiscence can help to enrich social care and benefit well-being.

We now have a range of tactile items, hand puppets and music to movement accessories:
