Visiting ~ The Feel Good Factor
Based on my studies and extensive market research, finding out exactly what people want and designing meaningful resources to help carers provide enriched social care has been at the very heart of Happy Days Dementia Workshop. Over the past two years I have developed a range of companionship materials, conversation prompts, a range of nostalgic artefacts; memory baskets, life story books and more to help people live well with dementia. It’s really important to help elderly and people living with dementia retain skills and sustain mobility but it is equally important to help people remain socially active for overall well-being. Prompting memories can bring out interesting stories for shared enjoyment. Meaningful interaction encourages activity and can be beneficial to well-being. As we all know, it’s important for carers to take care of themselves too. We have identified that carers sharing meaningful time with the people they care for, helps them to feel good. So please pop along to www.dementiaworkshop.co.uk and see the cost effective range to help your caring team provide enriched social care for residents ~ also ideal for day centres, volunteer visitors, befriending services, rehabilitation, NHS, community services and families. ‘People may not always remember what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.’ Many thanks to everyone who reads this post.
Please contact me anytime, I have a product catalogue available with cost effective memory prompts starting at just £2.95 plus pp.
